Laser Ablation

Winbro’s Laser Ablation machining methodology is performed utilising a diode-pumped Q switched YAG Laser, characterised by high beam quality, and very high frequency pulses, which creates an effective micro-machining process. The ablation process is optimised to provide good material removal rates whilst maintaining high quality metallurgical characteristics in the processed features. This highly controllable process is capable of machining the most advanced diffuser shapes found in blades and vanes for both Aero and IGT. The process is equally capable with both ceramic coated and non-coated components.
